Security

The Centre for Information Security

We ensure comprehensive protection of AGH’s digital assets. As an integral part of the Security Sector, we carry out tasks in three key areas:

  • Monitoring and technology: We monitor the network, detect vulnerabilities and test the security of IT systems.
  • Legislation: We develop and implement data protection policies and procedures.
  • Education: We deliver training and advise on the selection of secure solutions for university departments.

Privacy and Data Protection

  • Our competences also include full oversight of the processing of personal data. We safeguard the privacy of students, staff and university partners by ensuring that all processes and systems comply with legal requirements. We advise on risk assessment, review contracts and actively support university departments in the secure management of information.

  • The Data Protection Inspector, in close cooperation with the Centre for Information Security and the supervisory authority, ensures the highest standards of privacy. In accordance with the GDPR, the Inspector is involved in all matters concerning personal data at the university, ensuring full confidentiality.
