Anti-spam filters

Every mailbox handled by the mail server in the agh.edu.pl domain has an anti-spam filter, which redirects unwanted messages to the SPAM folder. This mechanism is one of the elements protecting the mailbox against unwanted emails. 

NOTE the following configuration applies to the default skin ("Elastic"), the configuration may vary depending on the selected skin.

How to verify if the spam filter is enabled in your mailbox?

 

  1. Open a web browser and go to the website address: https://poczta.agh.edu.pl.
  2. Log in to your email account using your login and password.

  1. After logging in, find the "Settings" button (located in the top right corner of the screen) and click it.
  2. Now go to the "Filters" tab in the settings menu.

Check the default Spam Assassin filter

  1. In the "Filters" section, check if a filter named "Spam Assassin" with the default configuration is created by default.
  2. If the "Spam Assassin" filter is present, it means that the anti-spam filter is enabled.
  3. If the default filter is not present in the mailbox, it can be added manually. 

How to add Spam Assassin filter?

If the default filter is not present in the mailbox, it can be added manually by clicking the "+" sign in the filters column.


Complete the form with the following information:

  1. Filter name:Spam Assassin (it can also be any other name associated with an anti-spam filter)
  2. Filter enabled: Click the checkbox
  3. In the "For incoming mail" section, you should: select the option "matching all of the following rules", then click the first drop-down menu to expand the list, select: X-Spam-Status, click the second drop-down menu and from the list select contains, and in the text field enter: Yes, score=

    If the X-Spam-Status option is not available in the drop-down list, you must add it manually by selecting the field with three dots , and then entering X-Spam-Status into the first field.
     
  4. In the "...execute the following actions:" section, select in order: "Move message to"; "Spam"; "Stop evaluating rules"
  5. After completing the form, save the changes.
